Q.        What do I need to do to my fleece before I send it in?

A.        When you shear your animals choose a place that is well away from hay and straw,
That way the fleece will remain as clean as possible.
Before sending it in, lay it out and remove any vegetation, twigs, etc. Also remove any cotted lumps and faeces and heavy stains.
At this stage sort your colours. Sorting your colours will also save you money as if we have to do it there is a charge as it is a little time consuming.
This is also the time to assess your fleeces, if you have some elderly ladies in your flock check their fleeces to see if they are as good quality as the younger ones, remember,
including one or two poorer fleeces will lower the quality of your finished product.
When sending in Mohair the age grades of kid, young goat and adult should be kept separate.
We can supply you with bags to transport your fibre in.
When rolling your fleeces please don’t twist the wool tails and bind them in as this takes ages for us to unravel them.

Please tie a label on the bag or write on your name and address for us to see, and put your order form and terms and conditions forms inside the bag.
